Quality Breast Surgical Care
The National Quality Measures for Breast Centers – Surgeon Program (NQMBC – Surgeon) is an interactive internet model for surgeons to track and measure quality performance in 10 separate surgeon quality indicators, up to 45 indicators as desired. The NQMBC – Surgeon Program identifies quality care measures and provides immediate access to information that allows participating surgeons to compare their performance with other participating surgeons across the United States. Example quality performance graphs can be seen here: https://nqmbc.org/surgeon-program/surgeon-participation-preview.cms
We are approaching The American Board of Surgery to validate this program as a recognized ongoing quality assessment program for breast surgical care.
The NQMBC – Surgeon Program is a result of the National Consortium of Breast Centers’ (NCBC) commitment to increase the quality of surgical health care provided by surgeons to their patients. Quality data has been collected continuously since 2005. Because the NCBC has breast center members in most states of all types and sizes, we have the opportunity to compile a secure database from which all surgeons can be compared.
